Magnetic Particle Inspection is a non-destructive testing (NDT) service for detecting surface defects that are invisible to the naked eye on relatively smooth and non-porous surfaces. The basis of the testing is the use of surface wetting and capillary action. After application of penetrant and removing any excess, the penetrant that rises to the surface indicates the presence of surface anomalies.
